About the Job:

To train aerospace engineering apprentices from absolute beginner and instil best practice knowledge, skills and behaviours in mechanical engineering. Support learning in general aviation knowledge and wider aviation trades within the business.


Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

The Technical Apprentice Supervisor will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the apprentices effectively through all aspects of practical and theoretical elements of the BN Academy Apprenticeship.


The theoretical elements will include presentation delivery, supporting and monitoring apprentice progress through face-to-face meetings, on-line college facilities, regular inspection of apprentice work diaries, regular inspection of apprentice NVQ folders and any other college work, including visiting the college on college days to monitor progress there, and report to the Apprentice Board Managers. 


The practical elements will include instructing and/or supporting the apprentices in best practice hand skills and best practice general use and maintenance of tools required for their given trades with the support of the collaborative partners and in association with any Service Level Agreement in place. Additionally supporting and coordinating working on live aircraft. 


The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to supervise and inspire a team and have a positive attitude with a commitment to teaching/training and will have experience of working in the Aviation sector as a fitter or mechanical engineer.


The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, a BTEC Level 3 or higher in Aeronautical or general Engineering. PART 66 Airworthiness Module, Maths Module PART 66 Maintenance Practices Module and PART 147 Airframe Course are desirable. A Level 4 Certification in Education and Training is essential.



Any offer of employment will be conditional, subject to the successful completion of the Company’s Security Clearance process.  This will be arranged by the Company on the candidate’s behalf.
