Job Description 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Quality Engineer to join Britten-Norman Aircraft Limited, a subsidiary of the Britten-Norman Limited, producer of one of the most successful civil aircraft ever manufactured in the UK.  

Britten-Norman also manufactures a highly versatile, low cost surveillance aircraft type which is in use with a number of military and police operators world-wide including the UK’s Army Air Corps.

We are looking for a Quality Engineer who will be the main point of contact for Quality at Bembridge which includes quality system administration (procedure reviews, Q-Pulse/Aerotrac/Databases), non-conformance control and supplier returns and monitoring of cost of quality and metrics.
 

This role is based at our Isle of Wight premises.

 

Primary Tasks

Main tasks will include but are not limited to:

·     Assist in the development and maintenance of the company quality management system to ensure Product Quality Standards are maintained and Products and Services conform to Approved Data, Contractual Requirements and procedures.

·     Conduct audits on internal and external suppliers and sub-contractors, and responsible for the upload of supplier non-conformance requests onto the company database.

·     Assist the Quality Department in the completion of Internal Audits & audit reports, coaching BNA personnel in the completion of Non-Conformance & Defect Investigations, assisting in implementing any quality improvements, and verification of corrective actions.

·     Administer the quality management systems (Q-Pulse, Aerotrac).

·     Administer the reviews and updates to all quality documentation.

·     Assist all members of the quality department with investigations and actively engage with and support the Company Safety Management System.

 

Key Skills and Attributes: 

·     Communication: Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills with ability to retain composure and flexibility under pressure

·     Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook

·     Organisation: Ability to multi-task and to determine and manage priorities to meet multiple deadlines

·     Team Working: Effective in a team and as an individual. Precise, accurate and meticulousness. Reliable, pro-active and self-confident.

 

Minimum Qualification Requirements: 

 

Essential:

·      5 GCSES at grade A*-C

·      Certified internal auditor.

·      Formal EASA Part 21G training

·      Formal EASA Part 145 training

 

Desirable:

·      Certified lead auditor.

·      Certified Human Factors.
 

Required Experience

 

Essential:

·      Minimum 5 years quality experience.

·      Served experience in the Aerospace industry.

·      Experience in Root Cause Analysis tools

·      Working knowledge of EASA Part 21G and EASA Part 145

 

Desirable:

·      Working knowledge of ISO9001:2015

·      Understanding of MAA MRP 145

·     Experienced in producing KPI reports and trend analysis
