QUALITY ENGINEER (SUPPLY CHAIN) 

Location:  Southampton

Standard Hours: 40 Hours per week, Monday to Friday, Flexitime 

 

Job Description

Responsible for the independent quality oversight of suppliers and associated supporting functions in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.

 

Primary tasks

On a day to day basis the primary responsibilities of the Quality Engineer (Supply Chain) will be to:

Take responsibility for the Supplier Oversight System, development of the Supplier Audit Programme and maintaining the programme in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.

Take responsibility for the completion of supplier audits and reviews in accordance with the requirements of the programme and company / regulatory requirements.

Produce accurate reports on the cost of supplier non-conformities.

Achieve a measurable reduction in supplier non-conformities and concessions.

Take responsibility for the validation of the effectiveness of supplier non-conformity reports, corrective actions, root cause analysis and root cause corrective actions and working with suppliers to ensure timely and effective action is taken in all cases.

Take responsibility for the upload of supplier non-conformance reports onto the company database, analysing and presenting KPI’s, trend analysis and risk data to senior management.

Take responsibility for identification of business risk’s associated with suppliers and documenting on the applicable risk register.

Communicate effectively with all members of your colleagues and the wider business, identify early potential risks, seek clarification of any issues you are unsure of and provide feedback on all aspects of the business to your line manager.

Minimum qualifications requirements:

Minimum of 5 x GCSE’s at Grade C or above.

Apprentice in Aerospace Industry or equivalent.

Certificated training as an Aerospace Auditor.

Certificated training in Part 21G or Part 145

Quality Assurance Qualifications (ONC / HNC).

 

Required experience of:

Aerospace Industry (following a recognised apprenticeship or similar structured training) in a Quality Engineering Role in aerospace production or component maintenance.

Experience in Supplier Auditing in the aerospace industry.

Experience of working with Regulators.

Ability to read and understand engineering data, drawings, specifications etc.
