PURCHASING ASSISTANT 

Employment type: Fixed Term (6 months)

Standard Hours:  40 hours per week

Location:  Southampton

 

Job Description: 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for negotiating with suppliers, purchasing direct and indirect material and placing purchasing orders.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate researching skills for sourcing alternative parts and suppliers and expedite all orders placed to ensure forecasts are correct and inform the line manager of all slippages.

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above. Experience of working in a manufacturing environment or similar is essential and any previous experience of purchasing raw materials along with a CIPS level 2 or equivalent qualification would be advantageous.  

 

Security:

Any offer of employment will be conditional, subject to the successful completion of the Company’s Security Clearance process.  This will be arranged by the Company on the candidate’s behalf.
