Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Commercial Officer to join Britten-Norman Aircraft Limited.

Britten-Norman is the UK’s EASA A2 approved aircraft manufacturer.  We have designed and built aircraft and aircraft systems for over 60 years. Models include the famous Islander and Trislander commuter variants and the latest Manned Airborne Surveillance / ISTAR platform, the Defender 4000.

With facilities in Asia, America and Europe Britten-Norman is able to provide in-service support customers across 120 countries. With a wide breadth of approvals, the Company specialises in bringing the latest aerospace technologies to market

This role is based at our Isle of Wight premises.


Purpose of the role

To assist in the compilation of quotations, pricing (including List Prices), bids, raising sales orders, invoicing, performance management reporting, management of supplier contracts and the internal expediting.


Primary Tasks

Main tasks will include but are not limited to:

Prepare estimates and pricing for the activities delivered by Britten-Norman Aircraft.

monitor, record and expedite requests for quotations

Assist the Commercial Manager in identifying new opportunities to reduce costs, increase margins and sales . This includes post contract analysis.

Exploit new supplier opportunities for the benefit of the business and nurture new relationships.

Raise sales orders and invoices and monitor the delivery of orders as required by the Commercial Manager


Key Skills and Attributes:

Communication: Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills with ability to retain composure and flexibility under pressure

Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and outlook

Organisation: Ability to multi-task and to determine and manage priorities to meet multiple deadlines

Team Working: Effective in a team and as an individual. Precise, accurate and meticulousness. Reliable, pro-active and self-confident.


Minimum Qualification Requirements:

5 GCSE passes at grade C or above with at least a grade B in each of Maths and English

2 A Level grade C passes (min 160 UCAS points) or equivalent qualification(s)


Required Experience

Experience in a previous procurement or commercial role



33 days holiday (Inclusive of bank holidays)
