Job Description 

Britten-Norman is the producer of one of the most successful civil aircraft ever manufactured in the UK.  This leading aerospace SME also offers a wide range of aviation related services to an international client base and is currently in a period of development and expansion.  


We are looking for an HR Manager who is keen to be part of a growing business and is passionate about delivering an effective, proactive and flexible HR service.   The role will be varied, challenging and exciting as the HR Manager and the team provide relevant and appropriate HR support to all employees whilst driving best practice and ensuring compliance with all company procedures, documented policies and employment legislation.


This role is based in our London office in St James’s Square.


Primary Tasks

The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include:

·      Provision of an exceptional level of Human Resources support to the wider business visiting the various business locations as necessary. 

·     Supporting the development of the HR Strategy with the Chief Executive.

·     Driving alignment between the HR Strategy and business goals.

·     Provision of advice to managers on the recruitment and selection process.

·     Managing the full employee life-cycle.

·     Overseeing and supporting the absence monitoring and return to work processes. 

·     Providing advice to line managers on HR policies and procedures.

·     Delivering a positive and effective communications and training programme on HR policies and procedures. 

·     Managing employee relations casework.


Required Experience


·      Solid and demonstrable experience as a generalist HR Manager

·      Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders and providing strategic advice

·     Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills with ability to retain composure and flexibility under pressure

·      Experience of Microsoft Office

·      Previous experience of the impact of data protection legislation on an HR department

·      Some experience of an HR automated system

·     Experience of working within an SME

·     Ability to multi-task and to determine and manage priorities to meet multiple deadlines

·     Effective in a team and as an individual. Precise, accurate and meticulousness. Reliable, pro-active and self-confident.


Minimum Qualification Requirements


·      Degree in a relevant subject, CIPD Level 7 or MBA / Masters in HR management.

·      Two A Levels or equivalent qualifications

·      5 x GCSEs at grade C or above (to include English and Maths) or equivalent qualifications
