Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Finance Assistant to join Britten-Norman Limited, producer of one of the most successful civil aircraft ever manufactured in the UK.
Britten-Norman also manufactures a highly versatile, low cost surveillance aircraft type which is in use with a number of military and police operators world-wide including the UK’s Army Air Corps.
This role is based at our Southampton premises.
Purpose of the role
To provide financial administration for the Head of Finance and Finance Supervisors.
Primary Tasks
Main tasks will include but are not limited to:
Process purchase invoices and supplier credit notes on Sage 200 accounting system & Aerotrac for the relevant BN Company.
Process sales invoices and customer credit notes on Sage 200 accounting system & Aerotrac for the relevant BN Company.
Enter bank and cash transactions onto the Sage system and complete regular bank reconciliations to the financial records.
Maintain schedules for accruals & prepayments and post journal transactions to reflect the movements.
Credit Control: Ensure that Sales Ledger cash is collected on time.
Purchase Ledger management: Reconciliation of Supplier statements and adhere to terms.
Key Skills and Attributes:
Possess good IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel
Good understanding of both Financial and ERP systems
Possess good numeracy skills and be capable of logical thought
Effective time management and capable of meeting deadlines
Willing to be hands-on as we are a Small to Medium Sized Enterprise (SME)
Possess a strong attention to detail
Enjoy working as part of a team with strong interpersonal skills
Good command of English spelling and grammar in all written correspondence
Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Ability to remain flexible to meet the wider demands of an expanding business
Ambitious, self-motivated and hardworking
Minimum Qualification Requirements:
Maths GCSE grade B or above
5GCSE’s at Grade C or above
2 A Levels are desirable but not essential
Required Experience
A proven track record in a finance environment
Invoice Processing
Purchase and Sales Ledger Maintenance
Credit Control would be desirable
Cash Book Maintenance would be desirable
