Job Description 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Part 145 Production Operative to join Britten-Normal Aircraft Limited, a subsidiary of the Britten-Norman Limited, producer of one of the most successful civil aircraft ever manufactured in the UK.  


Britten-Norman also manufactures a highly versatile, low cost surveillance aircraft type which is in use with a number of military and police operators world-wide including the UK’s Army Air Corps.


We are looking for a Part 145 Production Operative whose main focus will be to repair parts and assemblies under part 145.

This role is based at our Isle of Wight premises.


Primary Tasks

Main tasks will include but are not limited to:

·     Manufacture of detail parts from sheet material (sheet metal work) in accordance with our works order or drawings.

·     Assemble detail parts to form assemblies in accordance with our works order or drawings under 145 regulations

·     Operate the ‘router’ to manufacture detail parts in accordance with our works order or drawings.

·     Manufacture cable assemblies from detail parts in accordance with our works order or drawings.

·     Repair, overhaul and service of hydraulic assemblies in accordance with our works order or drawings.


Key Skills and Attributes: 

·     Communication: Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills with ability to retain composure and flexibility under pressure

·     Computer Skills: A working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and outlook is desirable

·     Organisation: Ability to multi-task and to determine and manage priorities to meet multiple deadlines

·     Team Working: Effective in a team and as an individual. Precise, accurate and meticulousness. Reliable, pro-active and self-confident.





Minimum Qualification Requirements: 


·      5 x GCSEs at grade “C” or higher in Maths and English

·      Indentured Apprenticeship in a relevant area or acceptable equivalent training or experience



Required Experience


·     Demonstrable experience within the Aeronautical engineering.




·      Contributory pension scheme up to 4%

·      Eligibility to join the healthcare scheme upon successful completion of the probation period
